A stakeholder film from the live app, with no edit bay

1:54 of brief, live capture, brand plates, narration, captions, and chapters, from one local desk. Approval gates before every render. One 1920×1080 master, square, vertical, and a GIF from the same cut. MIT.

Walkthrough Studio: live app to a 1920×1080 master

_> The film, made in Studio

Every frame below came out of one project

Brief, script, direction, Playwright capture, cut, and handoff. Nothing in it is a mock.

Your browser does not support embedded video playback.

_>About

A product walkthrough was either a motion project or a raw screen recording. Stakeholders needed the first. Teams had time for the second.

Walkthrough Studio closes that gap on one local desk. The live app is the source of truth: brief, script, direction, Playwright capture, cut, and handoff. Brand plates carry the proof the screen cannot show. Nothing records until the script is approved.

>_Challenge

The film has to look like the product, not a slide deck wearing the logo. Hand-editing every zoom, cursor, and title card does not survive the next release, so the cut had to be regenerable from a script.

It also had to stay on the machine. Capture, versions, and the master never leave the laptop. Narration and the music bed call ElevenLabs only when a key is present. Studio opens without one.

>>>Process

Six stages sit on one bar: Brief, Script, Direction, Record, Cut, Deliver. A five-step brief can be drafted by a local agent. Direction sets atmosphere, motion energy, transitions, camera, and cursor once, and every chapter inherits it.

After the first cut, a director note in plain language picks the smallest safe scope: story, brand, timing, plates, or voice. Only that scope re-runs. Studio waits for approval before the next render.

__>Solution

One export: a 1920×1080 master, captions, chapters, poster, square, vertical, a 720p file, and a GIF teaser. Chapters ship inside the MP4 and as YouTube timestamps.

The senior team that ships client work films its own products with this desk. We published it under MIT so other teams can run the same path, from a brief to a file you can send the same day.

_> Open product

Run the same desk on your machine.

One command checks Node, npm, and ffmpeg, then opens the studio at 127.0.0.1:4747. Capture stays local. No API key to open it.

Shared infant care rhythm in a few taps for every caregiver

Two exhausted parents needed a calm shared rhythm app, not another tracker. In 11 active days we shipped a production PWA with orbit predictions, offline sync, and 29 cited articles on the same governed Apptension SDLC harness we install for client teams. 159 merged PRs. Zero improvisation.
